BREWER (FULL TIME).

We are looking for an experienced brewer to match the enthusiasm of our growing team. You will be working closely the Head Brewer and be responsible for all aspects of the production process, from raw materials through to packaged beer. This role will be based in our brewery in the Mendip area of Somerset.

Direct experience in brewing, fermentation and packaging is essential, as well as knowledge of processes and equipment related to a modern craft brewery.

Key Roles and Responsibilities include –

  • Managing raw materials and equipment, ready to facilitate production.
  • Carry out daily brewhouse and cellar duties, including monitoring temperature, gravity, pH, carbonation, and dissolved oxygen.
  • Brewing/Wort production
  • Cleaning tanks, equipment and keeping the brewhouse clean and tidy.
  • Packaging beers into various formats including keg, cask, bottle and can.
  • Working with oak barrels. Filling, emptying, moving, monitoring, and maintaining.
  • Safe movement of product including tank to tank transfers, in-line carbonation and filtration
  • Accurate and consistent record keeping
  • Additional roles to cover and support brewery operations will also be required from time to time, including stock control, logistics and events.

Skills

  • A minimum of at least one year direct brewing/production experience in a modern craft brewery
  • Accurate and consistent record keeping
  • The ability to work well as part of a team as well as confident and able to work alone when necessary.
  • High-level communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft software packages and Google Docs for electronically recording data
  • The ability to follow instructions and guidelines.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude to work and a commitment to producing high quality product.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Forklift license is preferred, but not a dealbreaker.

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. A certain degree of flexibility may be required and any additional hours worked will be honoured by way of hours in lieu.

Salary/Benefits

  • £27k to £29k per annum, depending on experience.

JUNIOR BREWER (FULL TIME).

We are looking for a Junior Brewer to join our growing production team. This is a development role, so direct brewing experience is not essential, but we are looking for someone with a strong interest in beer and brewing, a positive attitude, good attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

You will be working closely with the Head Brewer, Lead Brewer and wider production team, supporting all aspects of the production process from raw materials through to packaged beer. This role will be based in our brewery in the Mendip area of Somerset.

Experience in a brewery, food production, drinks production, hospitality, warehouse work, packaging or a similar practical environment would be beneficial, but full training will be provided for the right person.

Key Roles and Responsibilities include –

  • ·      Supporting raw material preparation, equipment setup and general brewhouse activity.
  • ·      Assisting with daily brewhouse and cellar duties, including monitoring temperature, gravity, pH, carbonation, and dissolved oxygen.
  • ·      Supporting brewing/wort production under direction from senior production team members.
  • ·      Cleaning tanks, equipment and keeping the brewhouse clean and tidy.
  • ·      Assisting with packaging beers into various formats including keg, cask, bottle and can.
  • ·      Supporting safe movement of product including tank to tank transfers, in-line carbonation and filtration.
  • ·      Accurate and consistent record keeping, with training and support.
  • ·      Following production processes, safety procedures and instructions carefully.
  • ·      Additional roles to cover and support brewery operations will also be required from time to time, including stock control, logistics and events.

Skills

  • ·      A strong interest in beer, brewing and production.
  • ·      A positive and enthusiastic attitude to work and a commitment to producing high quality product.
  • ·      The ability to work well as part of a team.
